About alexanderboulton
Alex Boulton is a historian (PhD College of William and Mary, 1991) specializing in early American cultural history. His Dissertation was titled "The Architecture of Slavery." He has written books on Frank Lloyd Wright and the Peloponnesian War and is currently working on two books: One on Thomas Jefferson's Family and the other on the evolution of the word and idea of race. He taught history at Stevenson University for twenty-five years until he retired in 2020. In addition to his PhD in history, he has an MA in American Studies from W&M and a BFA in fine arts from the Maryland Institute of Art.
Before he entered grad school at W&M, he worked as a professional photographer. He lives in Baltimore Maryland.
